Training Manuals must be purchased prior to a training session at a county UW-Extension Office. The Dunn County office is now located on the 1st floor of the Dunn County Community Services Building (old Dunn County Health Care Center), 3001 US Hwy 12 East, Menomonie. The cost for the manual, materials, proctored exam and refreshments at one of the training sessions listed below is $40.00 (cash or check only). It is required that you review the manual before the training and taking the exam.
Please note that if you intend to use restricted-use fumigant pesticides or restricted-use pesticides through irrigation systems, you’ll need supplementary certification in either the Aerial Application, Soil Fumigation or Chemigation subcategory, or all three subcategories. Certification in these subcategories requires purchasing a separate training manual from the UW PAT Program office (https://fyi.uwex.edu/pat/certification-categories/) and passing a separate exam (70% minimum score). There are no supplementary training sessions for subcategories, so please order & read the subcategory-specific manuals prior to contacting our office to take the General Farming exam. There is an additional training fee of $12 for each subcategory when placing your order for manuals.
