Dairy Cows at the Dunn County Fair 2024

From the Dunn County Fair 6/25/24:

The Dunn County Fair Board has decided it is in the best interest of our exhibitors, families, volunteers, and visitors to not allow lactating dairy cows at the 2024 Dunn County Fair. Nonlactating dairy (dry) cows can be exhibited.

The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has issued an order that all lactating dairy cattle are required to receive a negative test for Influenza A virus prior to movement to fairs or exhibitions. This requirement does not apply to lactating beef cattle or nonlactating dairy cattle. Currently, Wisconsin has no confirmed cases of HPAI (H5N1) in dairy cattle, poultry, or humans.

Regulations regarding this matter come from the Dunn County Fair Board – please contact the Fair Office if you have questions: 715-308-8659.

Please refer to DATCP’s website HERE for additional information on this order.
