Speaking and Demonstration Contest

Chippewa, Dunn and Eau Claire County 4-H
Speaking and Demonstration Contest

January 23rd, 2025, at Elk Mound High School | Registration Due: January 9th, 2025

The 2025 Tri-County Speaking and Demonstration Festival is more than a competition—it’s an opportunity for 4-H youth to develop crucial life skills, express their passions, and build confidence. Scheduled for January 23rd, 2025, at Elk Mound High School, this event is open to all 4-H members, including Cloverbuds. Registration begins at 5:00 PM, with presentations starting at 5:30 PM.

Public speaking and demonstrations are important to the 4-H experience, offering youth the chance to research, plan, and present topics they’re passionate about. Whether presenting solo or as part of a dynamic duo, participants will benefit from practicing communication skills that are essential for future success. Demonstrations, a key form of 4-H public speaking, allow members to combine speaking with visual aids, showing or explaining a skill, activity, or concept in a clear, engaging way.

The festival not only helps youth build career readiness and organizational skills but also boosts their confidence as they learn to express themselves effectively in front of others. By sharing their knowledge, participants inspire their peers and contribute to the enthusiasm and energy of the entire 4-H community.

From club meetings to virtual settings, 4-H members have many opportunities to practice and refine their public speaking skills. This festival is a chance to showcase what they’ve learned in a supportive, encouraging environment, with the added bonus of recognition for top speakers. Volunteers are also welcome to help make the event a success.
